New name, new logo

Names of organisations should fit them well. In the case of a conciliation body, the name itself should simply convey the contexts in which its team can help consumers and companies to find amicable out-of-court solutions.

From ‘söp’ to ‘Schlichtung Reise & Verkehr’

Names of organisations should fit them well. In the case of a conciliation body, the name itself should simply convey the contexts in which its team can help consumers and companies to find amicable out-of-court solutions.
When the ‘söp’ was founded, the focus was on the railway, but since then several other fields of activity have been added:

2009: Foundation of the conciliation body’s supporting association by seven rail transport companies and a railway association.
2013: The first airline becomes a member of the conciliation body, numerous other airlines follow.
2018: The Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection supports the establishment of the travel conciliation body.
2020: Over 41,000 requests for conciliation are received as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The conciliation body has therefore been active across all modes of transport and increasingly internationally for around ten years. And this is also the motivation to change our name: the ‘Schlichtungsstelle für den öffentlichen Personenverkehr e.V.’ (söp) becomes the ‘Schlichtungsstelle Reise & Verkehr e.V.’

Important to know

The new URL of the conciliation body is: https://schlichtung-reise-und-verkehr.de

The conciliation body team can be contacted via the new email address @sruv.de

Conclusion

Whether you travel by plane, train, bus or ship – if you ever have a problem that gives rise to a complaint that cannot be resolved bilaterally with the travel/transport company, you can simply submit your conciliation request to us online. The tried and tested work of the conciliation body will not change. But perhaps with the new name, more people will find their way to us: we would be delighted. Spread the word 😊.
